Abstract | This column discusses resources and science topics related to students in grades preK to 2. This month's issue provides an activity on documentation panels to encourage students to reflect on their actions and thought processes. Young students benefit enormously from visual aids. Documentation panels--chronological arrangements of photos, student artwork, and student narration--provide students with a scaffold for engaging in conversation with peers, teachers, and family members about classroom activities. Students of all ages are prompted to remember and discuss shared experiences, creating a rich classroom dialogue that continues after an activity finishes. (ERIC). |
